NCR Corporation and First Data recently relocated its headquarters in the surrounding suburbs of Duluth and Sandy Springs respectively. The Metropolitan Atlanta ranked 10th as the largest cyber city in the United States with over 100,000 high-tech Atlanta careers and it is served by Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport which is the world’s busiest airport.

In Fortune Magazine’s review of top companies to work for in the United States, eight are in the Metropolitan Atlanta region. The company employs numerous employees and has a big impact on the city’s economy. Included in the list are the following: Aflac - located in Columbus this insurance and employee benefits company employs around 5,000 Georgia residents and has great benefits like having a large onsite corporate day care; QuickTrip - 24-hour convenience store employing around 2,000 residents in the Atlanta area with a long-lasting loyalty of over 200 employees staying for 20 years or more; Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta- a children hospital employing over 7,000 employees providing innovative employee benefits; Deloitte- top audit, tax, consulting and financial advisory firm and has 2,000 employees; PCL Construction- is 100 percent employee owned and employs 340 Atlanta residents; Alston and Bird- employs 900 Atlantans and has excellent benefits for new parents by giving three months paid leave for mothers and adoption benefits of up to $7,000; Milliken- employs over 1,500 people and made it In Business Weeks’ list of “Best Places to Launch a Career” and Bright Horizons- employing around 300 employees and offers great stock options and investment plans. Having a sizable financial and media sectors and home to growing Biotechnology sectors, Atlanta careers are seen to flourish and multiply in the succeeding years.

More and more skilled workers are relocating in Atlanta because the city is expanding its labor pool and their wages are the fast growing and this labor force trend is predicted to continue for the next two decades. Because of its diverse economic structure, Atlanta is projected to gain millions of new high tech jobs between now until 2025.
